Joe Hatzelman is a Tax Principal at Grassi. Throughout his career, Joe has been instrumental in serving the tax needs of clients across some of Grassi’s largest industry niche groups, including the Manufacturing & Distribution, Food & Beverage, Construction and Real Estate Practices.
Joe maintains direct client relationships and provides strategic advice beyond traditional tax compliance. He approaches each engagement strategically to identify potential pitfalls for his clients to avoid and find opportunities to move them closer to their business and organizational goals.
Before joining Grassi, Joe spent a year in the accounting division of a logistics company, where he handled various intercompany transactions with foreign subsidiaries.
Joe is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYCPA). In 2022, he was honored with a “30 Under 30” award from Long Island Business News.
Joe earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from SUNY Old Westbury and his master’s in accounting from Syracuse University.
