Barbara Durante is a Construction Advisory & Accounting Senior Manager at Grassi. She has over 30 years of experience providing clients with audit, tax, and business consulting services in many industries, including construction, architecture & engineering, manufacturing, and real estate. Barbara specializes in consulting services for general contractors, subcontractors, and related companies in the construction industry.

Before joining Grassi, Barbara started her career as an auditor at KPMG and then worked in various roles in private accounting, where she achieved the role of Controller before returning to public accounting.

Barbara is actively engaged in the construction industry. She is the Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Professional Women in Construction (PWC) New York Chapter and the Women Builders Council (WBC). She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYCPA), where she is part of the Construction Committee. Barbara also serves on the planning committee of Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW) and is an advisory board member of the Subcontractor Trade Association (STA).

Barbara is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and earned her bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She also received the William Donaldson Award, an award given to the student with the highest GPA in accounting. While at St. John’s, Barbara was also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and the Accounting Society.
