Lou Pizzileo is a Partner at Grassi with over 25 years of experience serving a diverse range of clients and industries, including manufacturing and distribution, healthcare, technology and specialty finance practices. He has extensive experience working with Fortune 500 and both public and privately held middle-market companies across a broad range of industries.

Lou serves clients in a variety of advisory and leadership roles throughout the business life cycle. His experience includes developing a financial reporting model for an owner-managed distribution company, guiding newly public companies through SEC reporting and audit requirements, and supporting management teams through transitional periods.

Lou also played a key role in a $125 million private equity recapitalization for an owner-managed software company. He prepared the business for sell-side due diligence, served as interim CFO to support the transaction, developed a post-close reporting model, and later helped hire a permanent CFO. Additionally, he advised a real estate technology company through a $10 million sale and supported a large pharmaceutical company in a $600 million transaction to strategic buyers.

Lou’s experience includes Big 4 and regional public accounting firms, as well as the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). Earlier in his career, Lou created and led a nationwide technology practice at his former national firm, where he assisted some of New York’s marquee technology start-ups through their initial audits.

Lou serves on his local Board of Education Audit Committee. He was also selected as an honoree for the 2012 Long Island Business News “40 Under 40” award. Lou is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYCPA).

Lou graduated from Long Island University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
