Meredith Brinkmann Principal

Meredith Brinkmann is a Principal at Grassi. She has over 35 years of experience delivering Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS), with specific expertise in the nonprofit and healthcare industries. Meredith specializes in Fiscal Intermediary programming under the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), billing and revenue cycle workflow optimization, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, audit readiness services, and finance department assessments and restructuring.

Meredith’s operational intelligence, proactive leadership and client-relationship-centered services have made her a trusted financial and operational partner to many New York State nonprofit organizations, particularly those regulated and overseen by the OPWDD, the State Education Department (SED) and the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). With a deep track record of stabilizing challenged agencies, rebuilding financial infrastructure and restoring compliance, Meredith offers a proven framework for rapid assessment, operational turnaround and long-term sustainability.

With extensive experience partnering with businesses and nonprofits, Meredith helps her clients address their pain points and strengthen their operational foundations through a three-step process. Her thorough assessment of people, processes and technology helps her identify and implement recommendations that enable her clients to build a stable structure and maintain organizational compliance, supporting their mission delivery.

Before joining Grassi, Meredith spent eight years at a public accounting firm, serving as a Director and business line leader. In this role, she co-led the 25-person, $5.5 million CAAS practice, playing a central role in the division’s operational turnaround and modernization and introducing a new governance structure to support the rapid expansion of outsourced accounting and advisory services. Over a 24-month period, Meredith drove measurable growth for the firm, expanding firm revenue by more than $1 million while improving margins by over 30 percent. Meredith also contributed to the firm’s broader strategic initiatives as a member of its Technology and Innovation Committee. She led the implementation of the firm’s CRM platform and advanced key marketing efforts, including the go-to-market strategy for the Government CAAS niche. In addition, Meredith led the firm’s participation in CPA.com’s CAS program in 2025 and completed the RSM Alliance’s Breakthrough Accelerator program in 2022.

Meredith is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a board member of the Autism Society of Greater Hudson Region.
