Michael A. Violano is an Audit Partner at Grassi with over 20 years of experience. He provides audit, accounting and consulting services to a diverse range of clients and industries, including public companies, manufacturing and distribution businesses, technology organizations, and Fortune 500 companies. Michael’s experience spans both the public and private sectors across domestic and international markets.

Michael works directly with business owners to develop tax and operational strategies that drive growth and maximize profitability, embracing Grassi’s philosophy of “entrepreneurs helping entrepreneurs”. His experience guiding clients through SEC reporting requirements and navigating complex regulatory and compliance challenges makes him a valuable resource.

Michael previously served as an internal auditor for a Fortune 500 company, where he planned, executed and reported on operational, financial and special project audits of the key business functions for an organization with more than $12 billion in annual revenue. In this role, he acted as an internal consultant, strengthening compliance, improving operational efficiency and supporting Sarbanes-Oxley initiatives throughout the organization.

Michael began his career at a Big 4 firm, where he built a strong foundation in audit and advisory services. Before joining Grassi, he worked at a national firm, serving public company clients and advising businesses in the manufacturing and distribution industry.

Michael was selected as an honoree for the Long Island Business News “40 Under 40” Awards. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and serves on the board of the Aerospace & Defense Diversification Alliance in Peacetime Transition (ADDAPT). Michael previously served on the board for the Long Island Capital Alliance.

Michael is a licensed CPA in New York State. He received his Bachelor of Science in accounting and Master of Science in taxation from St. John’s University in New York.
