Thomas Kreckler, CPA, MSA Partner, Needham Managing Partner

Thomas Kreckler is a Partner at Grassi and the Managing Partner of the Needham office, specializing in audit, tax planning and compliance services for closely held and family-owned businesses. Tom has more than 20 years of experience serving the unique compliance and regulatory needs of businesses in the manufacturing and distribution, healthcare, real estate, professional services, venture capital and retail industries.

Tom has specialized expertise in cost reporting, audit and tax services for private equity investors and portfolios. He has extensive experience advising flow-through entities and C corporations with multi-state operations on the most effective tax planning and compliance strategies.

Tom’s advisory role extends to helping clients with financial and operational issues, new accounting pronouncements, revenue recognition, loan covenant compliance and cash flow management. He also provides M&A advisory services, including buy-side and sell-side due diligence analysis.

Before joining Grassi, Tom was a shareholder at a predecessor firm, Levine, Caufield, Martin & Goldberg, where he ran the audit practice and served as the firm’s head of quality control.

Tom also has private-sector accounting experience as a Corporate Controller at a 100-bed acute care hospital, where he oversaw general accounting, tax compliance, capital budgeting, cash management and merger due diligence. He began his career at a regional public accounting firm, quickly rising through the ranks from Intern to Senior Manager.

Tom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs (MassCPAs). He holds a master’s degree in accounting from Stonehill College.
