Ari Weiss is a Principal in Grassi’s Tax group with over 10 years of accounting experience, particularly in partnership tax, real estate and private equity. He delivers tax planning and compliance services across multiple industries, including real estate, advertising and construction. Ari’s diverse client portfolio ranges from large private equity structures with over $5 billion in assets to single-property family investments. He also has extensive experience in the residential, commercial, retail, hospitality and affordable housing sectors and has been involved in numerous transactions, including sales, 1031 exchanges and restructurings.

Before joining Grassi, Ari held senior manager positions at BDO and Mazars, where he honed his skills in financial services and real estate.

As a licensed CPA, Ari is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYCPA). His commitment to thought leadership in the field is demonstrated by his current work on an article about the cancellation of debt income, related to real estate loans.

Within his community, Ari is involved in various philanthropic efforts. He is a member of the Young Leadership Committee of the National Committee for the Furtherance of Jewish Education and the Urban Justice Center. His community service includes participating in the Toys for Hospitalized Children program, working with Habitat for Humanity and volunteering at beach cleanups.

Ari earned his master’s degree in accounting from Queens College and his bachelor’s in business administration from LIU CW Post.
