William Rust is a Tax Principal at Grassi with nearly 15 years of experience in tax planning and consulting services. He primarily works with real estate, construction, architecture and engineering, and manufacturing and distribution companies, as well as high-net-worth individuals and families. William is known for his ability to navigate complex tax challenges and deliver tailored solutions across diverse industries, making him a knowledgeable and trusted business advisor to his clients.
Previously, William was a Tax Manager at Levine, Caufield, Martin & Goldberg, P.C. (LCMG), which merged with Grassi in 2020. William has spent his entire career with the same firm, advancing from Intern to Partner and demonstrating his loyalty and dedication to providing his clients with a stable, client-centric service approach. He focuses on proactive tax planning and advisory work to ensure his clients achieve optimal outcomes.
Within Grassi, William is actively involved in mentoring and training junior team members. He leads his team through tax and consulting engagements with a collaborative and approachable leadership style. William is also a member of the team that tests and implements technology and innovation in the Tax Practice, focusing on improving the firm’s processes and efficiency.
William has been a CPA in Massachusetts since 2015. He is also an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPAs) and the Grassi Information Technology Think Tank.
William received his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Stonehill College and his Master of Science in accounting from Northeastern University. While earning his degree at Stonehill College, William served as the President of the Accounting Honors Society.
