Rico D’Amelio, CPA, MST Partner

Rico D’Amelio is a Tax Partner at Grassi. He has over 15 years of experience helping private equity firms, hedge funds, and other financial service entities meet their tax-savings and compliance objectives. Rico guides clients through all aspects of taxation, from their dealings with the IRS to their accounting and miscellaneous filings. As a trusted advisor, he works with them to provide proactive and holistic advice to help them identify and correct tax concerns.

Rico’s expertise includes tax planning and compliance, audit defense, accounting, administration and structuring for private equity partnerships and their management companies. He also has experience in individual tax planning, compliance and estate planning for the founders, general partners and other ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.

Before joining Grassi, Rico spent nine years in the tax department of a Big 4 accounting firm servicing financial services clients and middle-market companies. He provided comprehensive tax services to large, complex private equity firms, including their portfolio companies, general partners, management companies, and personal tax returns.

Rico is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYCPA). He holds a Master of Taxation from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Science in Public Accounting from Brooklyn College.
