Michael A. Violano is an Audit Partner at Grassi and has been with the firm for over 13 years. He has extensive experience providing audit, accounting and consulting services to various industries and clients, including public companies, manufacturing & distribution, technology, and Fortune 500s in the public and private sectors of domestic and international markets.

Michael works directly with business owners to develop tax and operational strategies to achieve growth and maximum profitability, embracing Grassi’s philosophy of “entrepreneurs helping entrepreneurs”. His experience guiding clients through SEC reporting requirements and navigating complex regulatory and compliance challenges makes him a valuable resource.

Michael’s experience also includes serving as an Internal Auditor for a Fortune 500 company. In this role, he planned, performed and reported on operational, financial and special project audits of the key business areas of an entity with annual revenues over $12 billion. He acted as an internal consultant to help the organization become more compliant and efficient, specifically in the Sarbanes-Oxley efforts and the company’s operational business areas.

Michael began his career at a Big 4 firm, where he received the foundation of his experiences. Before joining Grassi, he worked at a national firm, where he played a key role in the firm’s public company practice and was a key member of the manufacturing & distribution niche.

Michael was selected as an honoree for the Long Island Business News “40 Under 40” Awards. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and serves on the board of the Aerospace & Defense Diversification Alliance in Peacetime Transition (ADDAPT). Michael previously served on the board for the Long Island Capital Alliance.

Michael is a licensed CPA in New York State. He received his Bachelor of Science in accounting and Master of Science in taxation from St. John’s University in New York.
