Adam Canosa is a Construction Advisory Principal in the Construction practice at Grassi, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in public accounting, financial management, operational consulting and executive leadership. His diverse background provides a practical perspective on the financial and operational challenges facing construction companies, real estate businesses, manufacturers and facility management organizations.

Throughout his career, Adam has built a unique blend of advisory and operational experience. After expanding beyond traditional accounting into financial and operational consulting, he founded his own construction-focused advisory practice and later acquired and led a mid-sized general contracting company. This combination of public accounting, advisory and executive operating experience enables him to help business owners and construction executives translate financial information into informed business decisions.

Adam advises contractors, specialty trades and construction leaders on strengthening financial performance, improving operational efficiency and creating long-term value. His areas of focus include strategic planning, project cost management, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, risk management, surety and banking relationships, and outsourced CFO services.

Drawing on both technical accounting knowledge and firsthand operating experience, Adam helps clients develop integrated systems and processes that connect budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, and day-to-day business management. He works closely with leadership teams to improve visibility into performance, strengthen decision-making, optimize cash flow and support sustainable growth.

Adam serves as a member of the Town of North Branford Permanent Projects Building Committee and previously served on the Board of the Associated General Contractors of Connecticut Young Contractors Council, including a term as Treasurer.

Adam’s technical knowledge has been recognized by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), where he served as a technical reviewer for the Construction Contractors: Audit and Accounting Guide. He has also been a featured speaker at national construction seminars and conferences, including the CFMA Southeastern Regional Construction Conference and events for the National Association of Surety Bond Producers.

Adam earned his Master of Business Administration in finance from Ashford University and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Quinnipiac University.
