Barbara Durante is a Construction Advisory & Accounting Senior Manager at Grassi. She has over 30 years of experience providing clients with audit and business consulting services in many industries, including construction, architecture and engineering, manufacturing and real estate. Barbara specializes in consulting services for general contractors, subcontractors and related companies in the construction industry.
Before joining Grassi, Barbara started her career as an auditor at KPMG and then worked in various roles in private accounting, where she achieved the role of controller before returning to public accounting.
Barbara is actively engaged in the construction industry. She is the Vice President of the Board of Professional Women in Construction, New York (PWCNYC) and treasurer for the Women Builders Council (WBC). She is also part of the New York Building Congress (NYBC) Council of Industry Women and a member of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). Barbara also serves on the Ambassador Council of Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW) and is an advisory board member of the Subcontractor Trade Association (STA).
As a CPA in New York State, Barbara is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYCPA), where she serves on the construction committee.
Barbara earned her bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University, where she graduated summa cum laude. She also received the William Donaldson Award, an award given to the student with the highest GPA in accounting. While at St. John’s, Barbara was also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and the Accounting Society.
