Carolyn Lopez is a Tax Principal at Grassi with 23 years of accounting and tax experience. She specializes in tax advisory and planning services for the real estate and professional services industries and collaborates with Grassi’s Private Client Services team to assist high-net-worth individuals with their tax, estate and trust needs.

Carolyn also works with business owners to align their personal and estate planning goals with their business objectives and long-term plans.  In addition to her tax and consulting expertise, Carolyn has extensive experience providing a range of accounting services to clients, including a social club for 13 years.

At Grassi, Carolyn mentors staff members and dedicates her time to training and developing her team. She is an asset to the firm regarding estates and trusts in Grassi’s Park Ridge office. Carolyn also works closely with several estate and trust attorneys in Bergen County, New Jersey and oversees two large cemetery associations in New Jersey, providing tax and advisory expertise to help them achieve their financial and operational goals.

Before joining Grassi, Carolyn worked at Gramkow, Carnevale, Seifert & Co., LLC for 18 years, until the firm merged with Grassi. She built her professional foundation here, starting as a staff member and advancing to serve as Tax Director. In this role, she oversaw tax engagements and planning for large real estate and professional services engagements and provided advisory and planning services for high-net-worth clients.

Carolyn has been a licensed CPA in New Jersey since 2010 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA).

Carolyn received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Montclair State University, where she graduated magna cum laude.
