Catherine M. Sabol is a Partner at Grassi and the State and Local Tax Practice Leader. She has over 20 years of consulting experience in state and local tax in public accounting, assisting clients in managing their state and local tax burden by addressing issues related to income, franchise and gross receipts taxes, sales and use taxes, employer withholding taxes, property taxes and M&A transactions.
Catherine primarily works with clients in the franchise, manufacturing and distribution, and technology industries. She advises on diverse state tax issues, including nexus, apportionment, domicile/residency and pass-through entity tax, and has guided clients through all stages of complex audits, often resulting in little to no change in tax due. Catherine also has experience conducting sell-side and buy-side SALT due diligence with various M&A transactions.
Before joining Grassi, Catherine was a Partner in the State and Local Tax practice at Citrin Cooperman.
Catherine attended the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and Binghamton University, where she earned her degree in philosophy, politics and law.
