Joseph Carnevale is a Partner at Grassi with nearly 20 years of public accounting experience. He specializes in working with closely held and family-owned businesses across the real estate, manufacturing and distribution, and professional services industries, providing practical tax and accounting guidance that helps business owners make more confident decisions.

Joseph’s expertise spans a broad range of tax disciplines, including partnership and pass-through taxation, where he brings deep technical knowledge to complex ownership structures and multi-entity arrangements. His clients value not just his expertise, but also his ability to cut through complexity and deliver clear, actionable advice.

Before joining Grassi, Joseph spent a decade at Gramkow, Carnevale, Seifert & Co., LLC (GCS), rising to Director before the firm merged with Grassi. He launched his career in 2008 at one of the nation’s largest accounting firms, building a strong foundation before finding his home in the closely held business world.

Joseph holds a CPA license in New Jersey and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA). He was recognized by the NJCPA as a “30 Under 30” honoree at age 28. In 2023, NJBiz named him on the People to Watch in Finance list, recognizing his continued impact as an emerging leader in New Jersey.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Notre Dame and remains committed to giving back, serving as a board member for a local foundation and staying active in community service initiatives close to home.
