Marc Leili, CPA Audit Principal
Marc Leili is an Audit Principal with over 20 years of experience. Before joining Grassi, Marc worked at a Big 4 firm for the first 16 years of his career. He has extensive experience serving public and private clients, primarily in the manufacturing and distribution, construction, and architecture and engineering industries, ranging from startup tech companies to Fortune Global 500 corporations.
Marc specializes in assisting public companies with SEC reporting requirements and both public and private companies with accounting standard compliance, including business combinations (ASC 805), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), revenue recognition (ASC 606), leasing (ASC 842), derivatives and hedging (ASC 815) and various structured debt and equity financings (ASC 480). He has extensive experience in internal control best practices, including control rationalization, remediation of material weaknesses and initial SOX 404 implementation. Additionally, Marc assists clients with complex transactions and milestones throughout their life cycles, including guiding clients through IPOs or SPAC mergers and the subsequent SEC reporting requirements.
Marc is also passionate about the professional development and advancement of up-and-coming accounting professionals. He shares his insights by developing firm policies and as a CPE instructor, industry presenter and mentor. Marc has taught training courses on various auditing and accounting topics and regulatory updates, always keeping his team, colleagues and clients informed of relevant changes and best practices.
Marc is a CPA in New Jersey and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA). He served as a former Assistant Treasurer of the Rutgers Business School Alumni Association Board of Trustees.
Marc earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Rutgers Business School and his Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Rutgers University.
