Matthew Lombardo is a Partner at Grassi with extensive public accounting experience, with a particular focus on serving manufacturers and distributors across multiple industries. He specializes in delivering comprehensive financial solutions to manufacturing and distribution companies, as well as food and beverage companies, consumer products businesses, apparel companies and e-commerce operations.

Matthew brings deep expertise in addressing the unique challenges faced by distributors and manufacturers, including inventory management and valuation, supply chain cost analysis, revenue recognition for complex distribution arrangements and financial reporting optimization. His experience spans audit and attestation services, operational consulting and strategic advisory work that drives measurable improvements in profitability and operational efficiency for distribution businesses.

Matthew’s work with manufacturers and distributors includes optimizing working capital management, analyzing margin performance across product lines and customer segments and providing strategic guidance on business combinations, equipment financing strategies and capital structure optimization to support growth initiatives.

Matthew delivers comprehensive tax planning and preparation services for both corporate clients and business owners, with knowledge of specialized tax considerations for multi-state distributors and manufacturers, as well as tax-advantaged strategies to support business expansion.

Before joining Grassi, Matthew was a Principal at a national accounting firm, where he led high-profile attestation and tax engagements for manufacturing and distribution clients, while advising them on optimizing their capital structure and financing arrangements. His operational assessments have consistently helped businesses identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and accelerate growth.

A recognized leader in his field, Matthew was honored with the prestigious “40 Under 40” award by Long Island Business News in 2020. He maintains active membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYCPA).

Matthew earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from the State University of New York College at Old Westbury.
