Michele Holmes is a Principal at Grassi and works with clients in the construction, manufacturing and distribution, and architecture and engineering industries. With over 25 years of experience, Michele is a valuable industry resource and provides strategic guidance to help clients run their business operations more efficiently and meet their financial and tax deadlines.

Michele has extensive experience conducting financial statement and employee benefit plan audits, as well as delivering review and compilation services. She is skilled at developing effective tax deferral strategies that save her clients’ money and providing tax compliance and consulting for construction clients, including fraud risk assessments, cost audits and acquisition due diligence. Within Grassi, Michele plays a significant role in developing and training junior audit staff members.

Michele is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYCPA). She is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP), a certification that is recognized as an industry standard of excellence. Michele also serves as the Treasurer of the Women’s Construction Owners & Executives, Metro New York (WCOE).

Michele earned her Bachelor of Science in accounting, summa cum laude, from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus. She continues her professional training and development through Continuing Professional Education (CPE) coursework in audit and taxation.
