Robert J. Brewer, CPA, CCIFP Partner, Architecture & Engineering Practice Leader

Robert J. Brewer is a Partner and the Architecture & Engineering Practice Leader at Grassi, as well as a former member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Rob began his career in 1987 and has extensive experience in tax planning, accounting, estate planning, succession planning and mergers and acquisitions. Rob’s insight, wisdom and creativity enable him to provide expert business advice across industries, including architecture and engineering, construction, nonprofit, manufacturing and distribution, healthcare and transportation.

Rob has written numerous articles on cash flow management, budgeting and workplace fraud. He developed and led a construction finance and accounting class at New York City College of Technology.

Rob serves on the board of the Long Island Facility Owners Network (LIFON), an association dedicated to education and innovation to bring together facility owners’ representatives and industry professionals. He is also an active associate member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), where he currently co-chairs the CFO Committee, and is on the advisory board of the Ronald McDonald House Charities New York.

Previously, Rob served on the board of the Center for Architecture (New York) and was a core committee member of the NYC chapter of the Lean Construction Institute (LCI). He also served as treasurer of the New York City Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and as a member of the board of the Long Island Business Development Council.

Rob is a CPA and one of the first in the country to earn the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) designation from the Institute of Certified Construction Financial Professionals (ICCFP). He is also an active member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Rob received his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Hofstra University and is an accounting advisor for his alma mater.
