Fiona Cheng is a Senior Manager in Grassi’s Nonprofit practice. She brings over 18 years of accounting experience in auditing nonprofit organizations. Fiona’s areas of expertise include financial statement audits for regionally recognized hospitals, for-profit and nonprofit managed care organizations and fundraising and grant-making nonprofits. She also has experience in Uniform Guidance audits and employee benefit plan audits.

As a leader within Grassi’s Nonprofit practice, Fiona leads engagement quality control reviews and ensures the highest quality and risk management standards across all client engagements. She leads strategic initiatives that drive excellence, delivering consistent, client-focused services tailored to the unique needs of nonprofit organizations. Fiona also leads continuing internal professional education sessions, fostering continuous growth and expertise within our Nonprofit team. Fiona is a subject matter expert in the nonprofit industry. With her deep knowledge and experience, Fiona helps nonprofit organizations navigate challenges and achieve their mission-driven goals with greater impact.

Before joining Grassi, Fiona worked for a Big 4 accounting firm, where she was a Senior Manager in the audit and assurance group. While there, she worked primarily in the healthcare group, conducting audit and accounting tasks. She also managed audits for various nonprofit entities.

Fiona is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and a licensed CPA in New York State.

Fiona received her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business and is fluent in Filipino.
